For all the successful people to continue maintaining their status quo in businesses, for talent undergoing a career transition they must use 25% of their time reading and most importantly reading what as to do with their day-to- day activities. Surely, it could be boring in the beginning but as time goes on, they would become an addict in reading and they would found reading indispensable provided they are reading articles, books, publications most specifically in their area of specializations and with this, they could turn their careers, organizations and businesses to be growing at scales.
What the experts say:
Do: Discover what you truly enjoy doing and thereafter, you plan how to turn your vision into reality...after you might have thought so deeply about this, your next step is to engage in the kinds of activities you see yourself doing in your new career. Mind you! This will not only change what you do every day, but will help you transform your identity and will give you opportunity to write the story you’ve been meaning to tell about yourself.
With this issue, you would also get advice on how to negotiate when the right job offers appear and how to transition into a new leadership role. And never forget, whatever you’re doing this period, you must always have ‘’purpose’’ so far you love it.
Bilingual is better and this will open many opportunities in yourundertakings, and will give you more confident in all aspects.
Don’t do: 1. Never and ever let your dream be abandoned. 2. Don’t disrespect others.
So I would recommend ‘’reading’’ as a path to professional goal achievement for the following reasons:
Reading makes us to be able to Picture out what is coming ahead:
Those professionals who read have the capability to foresee the situation of business-like in the nearest future and if there would be any problems ahead, they are always having positive vision to problem-solving. Reading is an excellent addict that provides positive results: Even those people who are already successful in their life still read. Bill Gates, Barack Obama, Angela Merkel, Warren Buffett and many others are examples who could proof the importance of reading in their life, in their businesses, in their societies, in their countries and in the globe as a whole. Leadership is a conversation: With reading, leaders would be able to manage communication within their organizations – both Inside-out and Outside-in. That means, leaders would be able to have the capacity to handle the flow of information to, from, and among their employees, clients, suppliers, shareholders and so on. Reading will give you Innovative Ideas: Those who read always have new innovative ideas, creative vision, learn new things from other cultures and they could put all these into practice to help their organizations.
Reading changes our mindset and brings us out of our comfort-zone:
At this point, we would be able to develop our mentalities. That is, with the Inside-out mindset and Outside-in mindsets we would be able to differentiate the difference between the two mindsets and how the two mindsets could help each other. Reading makes readers to become holistic thinkers: Readers are always having full determinations in all their undertakings and they have the capability to engage other minds and hearts toward their beliefs and in most cases they are always collaborative and participative and sometimes they are autocratic in decision-making in order to always make the right jobs done and they have the capacity to differentiate the left from the right. Watch these:
- O Segredo de Organizações Bem Sucedidas. Some articles in this magazine are written in English and others are written in Portuguese.
Here are some books/Magazines I would recommend for Leadership development: 1. O Segredo de Organizações Bem Sucedidas by Habib Balogun (The Secret of Successful Organizations). 2. Start With Why by Simon Sinek
This book centers on an important business truth: People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.
3. The Dip by Seth Godin
The Dip proves that winners do quit, and quitters do win - till theright 'dip'.
4. Daring Greatly by Brené Brown Show up, try and fail. Being vulnerable is a strength.
