Crossover Within Yourself, Among the People in a Localized Place and Even Across the Border

For all business tycoons, or who would like to be, and looking for the next breakthrough, then, you must always have the willingness to crossover and doing this would bring about a quantum advance of progress which will result in success thereafter. In most cases the people and the pieces we need to get the right job done would likely come from the unlikeliest places.

Adidas and Puma have always been two of the biggest names in sports shoe manufacturing for almost a century.

Since 1928 they have been supplying shoes for Olympic athletes, World Cup-winning football heroes, Muhammed Ali, hip hop stars and rock musicians, famous all over the world. But the story of these two companies began in one house in the town of Herzogenaurach, Germany.

Adolph and Rudolph Dassler were the sons of shoemaker. They loved sport but complained comfortable shoes to play in.

Rudolph always said, ‘You cannot play sports wearing shoes that you’d walk around town with.’ So, they started making their own. In 1920 Adolph made the first pair of athletics shoes with spikes, Produced on the Dasslers’ kitchen table.

On the 1st of July 1924 they formed a shoe company, Dassler Brothers Ltd and worked together for many years. The company became so big and successful and provided the shoes for Germany’s athletes during the 1928 and 1932 Olympic Games.

But in 1948 the brothers argued. No one knows exactly what happened and because of this, Adolph left the company. His nick name was Adi and using this and the first three letters of the family name, Dassler, he founded Adidas.

Rudolph relocated across the River Aurach and founded his own company too, called Puma! Both companies were for many years the market leaders, although Adidas has always been so much successful than Puma.

If you are not really making room for the unprepared meeting of minds, you might be missing out on the next big breakthrough.

The visionary leaders would grasp this. Because they are used to the creative, collaborative and participative environments that host crossovers and innovations – horizontal networks of individuals with a diversity, inclusive and equity would be much more innovative than the uniform vertical networks.

In my professional career, I’ve always spent most of my time learning from people with different experience from my own and bringing together elements to create something new and meaningful by “connecting the dots.”

And all these would make you to be able to realize the difference between left and right.

Be sure to bring in some few people with different and uncommon experience to be part of the team and the result would not just be quicker innovation, but as well as a working place where people will work collaboratively, learn every time, have more fun and very happy.
